Porcupine quills inspire new medical needles and adhesives

When one typically thinks about medical advances it is normal for technology to come to mind. Well you see, now porcupines might be coming to mind instead in some of the minds of researchers and scientists. In this new medical revolution porcupine quills have a unique structure giving them the possibility to be used as a new form of needles. In the past spiders webs and gecko feet have also inspired new medical advances and now the attention has been turned to be a more...pointy situation. Although it will take time to actually apply this new idea, once established the possible medical uses will be infinite. Who knows maybe the next time you receive an injection it might be with a porcupine quill.

How to be an Urban Change Agent

We are always being told that it is our duty to take matters into our own hands and take action in our communities to promote both a healthier lifestyle and an eco-friendly environment. However, the problem is that nobody tells us exactly how to do that. So what now? There are such things called urban change agents which are basically a groups of committed individuals devoted to making a change. The truth is that real change is not going to be seen unless it is something simple that most people would not mind participating in and have the time for. Therefore, the job of the urban change agents is to make eco-friendly change simplistic and widespread. Some of those ideas include carpooling, starting a "Really Really Free Market," planting a community garden, and starting a nature group for kids. Take a look at some of the other possibilities, think about them, and take action.
